COUNTRY CLUB HILLS, Ill. -- A Country Club Hills man was released on bond last week after being charged with the attempted robbery of a suburban sex shop.Police arrested Theus Patty, 25, after being led to him by fingerprint evidence he allegedly left behind in the April 29 incident. The Daily Southtown reported that Patty's nervous behavior at the shop didn't alarm the store manager at Ms. Fantasia's Boutique on 95th Street. She said that shopping in an erotic women's shop is "often an awkward experience for men."
"He just seemed like your average guy buying a gift for his girlfriend," she told the newspaper. But when Patty pulled a steak knife from his pocket and yelled out, "No one move!" police said a security alarm was sounded.According to the published report, Patty bolted through a closed glass door, breaking the glass but dashing from the scene nonetheless.Police traced fingerprints Patty left on items he handled at the store. The state crime lab matched the prints to Patty and he was arrested near his home in the 18000 block of Olympia Drive on Aug. 15.Special thanks to Angela Caputo of The Daily Southtown
