Car Flips, Burns In Oak Lawn Crash

POSTED: 6:02 am CDT July 10, 2008

Speeding may be responsible for an early Thursday rollover crash and fire in southwest suburban Oak Lawn, police said. No serious injuries were reported.

At 2:25 a.m., a Pontiac Grand AM was possibly speeding west on 95th Street when it flipped in the 5400 block of West 95th Street, causing a fire, according to an Oak Lawn police spokesman.

No serious injuries were reported in the one-car crash and the eastbound lanes were "fully open" at 4:20 a.m. Westbound lanes were expected to reopen about 5 a.m., according to the spokesman.

It was unknown immediately whether any citations were written.
