CHICAGO -- The family of a missing Plainfield woman on Tuesday more than doubled their reward to $50,000 in hopes of enticing someone to come forward with information.
Lisa Stebic has been missing for more than five weeks, NBC5's Amy Jacobson reported. Stebic was in the process of getting divorced from her husband, Craig, when she disappeared, leaving their home with only her wallet and cell phone.Stebic's family spoke out on Tuesday, asking the public to contribute to the fund.
"If the money is never claimed as a reward, this money in this account will be converted to a 529 college fund for Lisa's two children," said Stebic's cousin, Melanie Greenberg."We feel so empty, our hearts are aching for her," said Stebic's sister, Jaime Bouma. "It's very hard when I lay in bed at night and just wonder where could she be? Someone please tell me."
