CHICAGO -- After a national story exposing pharmaceutical chemicals in the nations water supply prompted a test of Chicago’s water supply. The Chicago Tribune released the results in a front-page story Thursday. It found trace amounts of an anti-seizure drug, a common painkiller, caffeine and two chemicals used to make Teflon and Scotchgard in area water.
The tests do not show that Chicago drinking water is unsafe, but it does raise questions about the long-term health effects of ingesting such elements.
