In most cases, attending college is seen as a positive life experience. But for adolescents with a genetic predisposition to alcoholism, it could be dangerous.Researchers analyzed surveys filled out by adolescents before they entered college, and at one and six years after starting school.They found attending college gives students with a genetic risk for alcoholism an extra boost toward heavy drinking.
They also found teens who didn't go to college drank more in high school than their college-bound peers.
