After talking with several teams about a trade earlier in the week, the Chicago Bulls have finally found a home for Kyle Korver as the sharpshooting small forward will wear an Atlanta Hawks jersey next season, the Chicago Tribune is reporting.
The Bulls had to either waive Korver and pay him $500,000 or pick up his $5 million dollar option to play in Chicago next season, by Sunday.
Korver averaged eight points per game during the 2011-2012 campaign and shot almost 44 percent from behind the three-point arc. He was also a key member of the now defunct Chicago Bulls Bench Mob.
Chicago needed some help in getting this trade to happen and found it in the Minnesota Timberwolves. Atlanta will get Korver, the Bulls will get a second-round draft pick from Minnesota who will then receive a trade exception acquired by the Hawks in the deal that sent Joe Johnson to the New Jersey Nets.
The move saves the Bulls $500,000 and pending a passed physical by Korver, the trade will become official.
