CHICAGO -- A popular local Irish singer was back in the hospital after a setback in her recovery.
Catherine O'Connell, 49, of Winnetka, broke her neck and severely injured her arm in a car accident Feb. 10.
She had more surgery Tuesday at St. Francis Hospital, in Evanston, after doctors discovered the ligaments in her neck were separating from her spinal cord.
NBC5 reported that the surgery lasted more than 7 hours and went well.
She'll require some healing time, but is expected to recover.
O'Connell made a comeback from the accident at Orchestra Hall on St. Patrick's Day.
